About us
California Graduate Institute and The Chicago School of Professional Psychology entered into a formal alliance in late 2008—uniting our renowned institutions, and becoming the nation’s oldest and largest nonprofit graduate school dedicated exclusively to psychology education and training. The school is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and an active member of the National Council of Schools and Programs of Professional Psychology, which has twice recognized the university for distinguished service and outstanding contributions to cultural diversity and advocacy. The school recently became the only professional psychology school named to the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll, the highest federal recognition a school can achieve for leadership in helping to build a culture of service and civic engagement. In being named to the honor roll, The Chicago School joins select company such as Stanford University, Duke University, M.I.T., and Notre Dame University.
